Rob Slippey, Owner/Founder and lead photographer at Visions Photo Studios
Welcome to Visions Photo Studios! As owner and founder of Visions Photo Studios, formerly Visions Photo Booth, I’d like to welcome you and introduce myself. I could go on about how I fell in love with photography but that’s probably not why you’re here. A little about me you ask? Well, I’m a husband, father, veteran, and of course a photographer. I started in photography about 10 years ago and I’ve enjoyed a wealth of different genre of photography. I found I really REALLY loved taking wedding photos just a few years ago. Something about the speed and emotion involved. To see a couple expressing their feelings for each other in such an open way and beginning their lives together as one, I find motivating. So motivating I seek to capture that emotion every chance I get. Wedding are something most only do once and they’re can be stressful, fun, exciting, intimidating, and beautiful all at once! That’s a lot of emotion to work with!
About our Photo Booth
The history behind our photo booth is an interesting one. Several years ago, before I got into wedding and event photography, my wife’s best friend called and asked if I could put together a photo booth for her wedding we were attending in a few months. No easy task but I am always up to a challenge! I put together a booth and it turned out everyone, including me and my wife, had a BLAST! We received a number of requests that night for other people we knew getting married. They wanted our photo booth because every other booth they saw the pictures were dark or just didn’t look very flattering. Without even realizing it I hit on our biggest advantage. I used my photography knowledge to create a photo booth that had bright beautiful images, and as it turns out, it was a hit.
We started renting photo booths to friends and then all of the sudden, we were Visions Photo Booth!
What’s with the name change?
I took a long time to make the decision to change our name. I really liked our name Visions Photo Booth, but I wanted to bring my photography and our photo booth business together as one. There are a number of reasons for why I wanted to do it, but I felt that Visions Photo Studios was a good way to go. We still intend to keep offering just photo booth packages and will for the foreseeable future but we’ve decided a name change might be in order for us.
